The Party 2021 ran on the weekend starting on the 9th of July. We made a live broadcast from Egg Big Gord. Now let's go back to the fifth and last hour of that broadcast. The time is half past eight.
The Lack Cat. And what they're doing right now is actually showing postcards. But postcards nowadays that's of course MP4 files, you know. Someone has made a greeting video and sent it over. So we had Berlusconi. Not the Italian guy actually, Berlusconi is a very famous here in Sweden. scene guy. And he spells it in a very Swedish way anyway.we see someone using a truck to move around beer bottles and we have had a guy showing up a stuffed raccoon of some sort, a stuffed animal. Kinda toy, you know. So it's kinda cute. For anyone who was not able to get there, they can now send their greetings. They are nice. We're going on with a game called Trotters if you ever play that back on the Amiga. It was kinda a lemming's clone, but a little bit different. And it was of course Alistair Brimble that made that one happen. Here is the new one from his 2014 remix.
Roder's title. Yeah, it's the title music as I spoke about. We go on with Dr. Awesome and my favorite song LI by night. But first, same Dr. Awesome and Nayagorite. Really? Something special there. Okay, I can admit something. I chose at least the first one because it's five minutes long. And you know what? I need another beer.
yes, okay I'm back actually. But I'm a bit of a lightweight because I chose cider. And the guy trying to open the cider at curbside, he used a like some sort of knife and I was wondering he is going to open his own hand before he opens the cider bottle. But thankfully he did not. Everything worked well. Next time I'm going to offer to open it for him because I have one of those fing on a keychain.Because I really don't want to go to the emergency ward. Jesus. I mean have you seen people trying to open bottles with their eye orbits? I mean why? Get the proper Bopdalo opener, please.
You are listening to the wrong headset again. I d delay thing going on. My apologies really.
Planetarium, Doctor Warsome, and everything seems to be quite calm here now because well the demos have been shown and so have the greetings cards and everything. So people are working with different projects and stuff. at ten o'clock today we will get TDK showing some cool stuff here. Live act TDK.And at eleven o'clock you will have a live graphics dual compo and at midnight music show by Fegelhaus, pieces of eight bit. What a piratey joke that is. And at two o'clock, physical party noise curfew. I I wonder why do you have a noise curfew when the party is in a barn? How would you possibly disturb any neighbors? Or maybe people just wanna sleep here? I have no idea.Anyway, I will see if I can get some of the people arranging this to give me an interview. So stay put for a while.
Alright, that was Odyssey Part Two on Ericade Radio Network. And well I have finally found one of well the managers here, if I may say so. Pl please welcome. Who who am I speaking with? Hello. my name is Albin and I'm one ofOne aven or orgas this year. Okay. And you're known to the world as FS Freak. Yes. What er any any reason for that, Nan? It's kind of a lång story. It's it's it's kind of a kombination of different things.Mm. It's it's it's a bit too long to take here actually. but I I I I've used it for maybe fifteen years, so it it feels stupid to like change it now. No, no, no, it w it works. Yeah, yeah. Definitely. And it's kind of unique as well. That's pretty fun. If you Google it you will probably not you'll probably find me and no one else. Yeah, yeah, I mean I you remember the guys that could have like I don't know, Satan or Kellracer or it's like dime a dozen of those. Exactly.Yeah. Alright. So let's take this quickly. You are, as you call yourself, an orgus. That is you are organizing the organizing. So please tell me, how did you get into Adison? I I I I visited first in I think it was 2015. I ha I wereThere is another another party called Bördi in Uppsala of Sweden. And we met a few guys from Edison there and they said Hey, you you would you how would you like to join our party? We are always looking for more people to come and visit and
We we have had made a lot of productions on Birdie, and they yeah they say hey, you can come to a real demon party. Okay. With without videos and stuff like that. Birdie is kind of a mixed mixed bag. There's both gaming and scene-related stuff as well. Are you more into retro scene or current stuff? When the the productions I've been involved with is like new school, new school productions, PC andAnd but but when I make music I still use like old old nineties tracking tracker software. Okay, but e when you say nyus school and old old school, I I kinda get what you mean. But when is the kind of geer that it changes from new to old or back? Yeah. That's that's kind of a I'm not I I I don't think there is like a super clear distinction there.I would say I mean PC used to also be old school when you look at like old school PC demos from the nineties, early two thousands. Yeah, yeah. but I think these days when when when we talk about old school we are talking about like Commodore sixty four, Atari, Amiga, computers. Yeah. Kind of I mean PC took over. So so old school is more like these old platforms which which are still very much alive. Thanks to the demos scene and y yeah really, you you're really carrying the torch for an old tradition, so to speak. Yeah, yeah. OK, so now we know that. I joined in I I went here the first time, at least in 2015, and I kind of becamepart av det organiser more en more as the years wan bli. Så jag lasten I would konsidera mig self a minor. Ja, ja. Wit ja vet being like invold från det start. In the beginning i jag just held a few a few special kompos like live kompos och jag.
became involved more okay so here's a thing. Why is it called Adison? Is it a konnecktion to the famous in inventor or something else sin now? Yeah. I I I think I I've heard the story. OK. There was there was I think there was like a an organisation like a I don't know the word in English. Like for n yeah nonprofit organisation which call themselves AdisAnd then I think it came naturally that hey we're going to organise a demo party. Let's call it Edison. Definitely a cool name, if not anything. I mean and how did you get to Eggebigord? As long as I've been involved here as yeah, normal visitor, it's always been here.I'm not sure I also not sure. I think you need to do an another interview later with Weyland. Yeah, yeah. I think he knows more actually. yeah, okay that that's about the history. Yeah, yeah, that's cool. But I was thinking, so now you're back after the corona. Were you scared to go here? I mean I mean after all, I mean Yeah, no, not really. I mean last year we did a like a pure online online event. which was really fun as well. I II didn't think it was going to be that fun, but it was actually like a real good vibe going on on Twitch and SceneSat and in in the chat and everything. but but no I wasn't scared. I I got my I got my flu shot and everything. Yeah yeah vaccination. Yeah, I got my I got my second shot yesterday actually. So I don't know. I hope the delta thing isn't a problem but yeah, hopefully. and and and since there's also stillThe venue is still limited to fifty people, so we're s I mean we're doing everything online as well. So every everyone can participate. Yeah, I guess most people are online there. Okay. So what can you expect from Edison? If if you didn't really know about it just see Moky demo party, w w what are you all offering? Yeah, I mean we I would say I would say anyone who who's into like cr creative stuff, I mean it can be music, it can be like animation or video or
programming like graphics programming. I would say come here or at least like check out the stream and see what it's all about andalso the people. People are really inclusive and I mean there's there is a rivalry but it's friendly rivalry. It's it's not like like way back when when crack groups were like you know competing and yeah yeah yeah I remember that. When when everyone I I mean the word labor was kinda like if you were not goodYeah, but it wasn't the the term the way I understand it is like someone who is totally incompetent and n doesn't know about how to do a demo. But in the demo scene it's more was used against people that knew what they were doing, but they weren't good really. Yeah. But I get a feeling that when people get older this kinda animosity i r y runs away yeah and you get more like it's just cool to meet. Exactly. It's it's nice to meet, it's nice to like talk to people, you you can always learn more stuff. And I would say, I mean, even even if you don't think I you will win with a production, enter with it anyway. Like participation these days I would say is way more encouraging and interesting than like even if you know yeah this group is going to be here, they will probably like win the demo compo. But I mean whatever. But strange thing ha s strange things still happen and yeah.Yeah, first time f funny funny side story if I may. Yeah. first year I came here with yeah with with my group so to speak. we entered with something really simple, like a a PC demo really simple. was was not thinking yeah we we we want to win but we we still want to show hey we are here now and here's our like tag or whatever.
But we actually managed to beat one of the biggest demo groups in Sweden. They got third place and we got second place. So I mean okay, they they weren't really trying their hardest, but still just just to see this group on on like the the like score list was that was pretty funny. Yeah, but that's a thing. If you really want to win, you try hard and then you may have a better chance. I mean getting a bit stuffed and fat and saying heyI don't care, I'm the best. I mean that's not a good r recipe for no. No okay. so today we had a bit of a slow start, but we are going on here. We had some demos. What's happening tomorrow? tomorrow is I would say is like the the big day when all the competitions like this year's entries will be displayed and people are still sitting around here working on them. Of course, I see people making music over here.People programming, doing all s kinds of cool stuff. So that's that's like the I would say the the main event that's like like seeing all all the creativity come together, all the like entries, part part participants, entries. so yeah that's the for sure the biggest thing. today there is going to be pretty soon like a live graphics deal.which is like when two artists compete live head to head. They only have fifty minutes to make something cool. It's not really any pr any prestige in that conference, more like fun for the audience, I would say. Yeah, yeah. and it's b it's be kind of hard to find people who want to like who actually w want to be live. doing something and butI I I keep telling them like it's it's for fun. Yeah, I mean so. I mean even if you really screw up people gonna have a laugh. Yeah, exactly. And and people vote. I mean you can probably win that that co a round in that comfort just for b doing something fun and unexpected. Yeah, that seems like a plan. Okay, yeah, got okay, Sun Sunday is not much going on there, you closing shop. Yeah, pretty much. People wake up, have breakfast and yeah and
Okay, I got too long for next year. Yeah. I I got one last question for you. Because I'm doing a podcast that kinda play the track music that compete in in the competition. Can you tell me just a little bit about the track demo competition? Yeah, sure. so that is a a kompo a musik kompo where where you're only supposed to use use a a tracker program which is like a pretty old school way a prettyWhat what would would you call it? Like a step sequencer. An old school step sequencer, which was really popular on Amiga and later PC as well. So I mean the only limitation really is because people have done some super incredible things with those programs. but it's more like you're limited to these formats like the mod format and the XM format or S T S three and stuff like that. You can't really hand in an MP three. There's like a wildThat's the like the streaming musik kompo. And that's that's cool as well. But this is a bit more k konstrain. Ja, yeah, I can understand it. Okay, FS Freak. Thank you very much for joining. This is the Arika Radio Network, and we will be on the arte until ten o'clock, one more hour. Thanks for listening.
The Ericade Radio Network with DJ Daemon live right here, right now. yes, it's me still here. Okay, so I must say that was a really great interview. Thanks again to FS Freak, one of the orgas. Okay, that's what it's called now. Back in my day it was called organizers. Or organizers, as they used to say it.I call them administrators, management or whatever because yeah, I'm kinda old school. But I must say it's been a really good demo party so far and as I said before, don't feel too bad about all the troubles that are because so far no demo parties have gone out with with gone out without a hitch. There has always been some some major snuffo if I may say so.Alright, I will be with you until ten o'clock and then we are going back into the main rail of broadcast. You know the station goes back on automation. So some more music. By the way you heard four or five no free, free actually. Odyssey. Part one, two and two again because we like that one.
Okay, that was unexpected. yeah, it is that short. Okay, the problem is I need like two more people to run this thing as I try to answer people on chats and all things. Yeah, and no excuses. Let's go on with the music here. I'm gonna kinda talk a little bit about what's going on here tomorrow. and then we are closing shop here at ten o'clock. I be packing down
The Love Trap is the name of the song. This is the Hurricade Radio Network. We're broadcasting live from Edison Party 2021. Next up is the live graphics duel. Pretty obviously this is radio. I can't talk about it. It would be a bit silly. Yeah, that is a red line and yeah, he draw a yellow sun. It's very beautiful. You would not really enjoy that.So I will play some music and well then we're leaving. But first of what happens tomorrow on Anderson demo party? First of all, it's quite silent here until seven o'clock. That's seven pm when the live stream begins anew. So I don't think it much happens in during the day. And at twenty hundred that is eight pm, we have a deadline for all compos. And the whole thing just started running at 9 pm. Graphics, ASCII, photo and animation and video compost. And the thing I'm really caring for here that's there's a music thing here. let me see. Poo-poo-poo.Not entirely sure when that runs. It doesn't say yeah, sorry, here we go. I kinda missed the line. It's at seven PM. And that's why you will not be able to hear it on tomorrow's podcast. There's simply not enough time to make it happen. Anyway, more music.
Stardust memories. Okay, so the big fat music is coming back, but more softer and a little bit moreHome, I guess. And that's great. More like music you would hear on this station actually. yeah. So I have been spying around here trying to figure out what people are doing. And it is a number of bots, graphics, music and programming things. So tomorrow the demo party is probably gonna be quite a nice one.but of course I I can't just sneak in over people's shoulders because they would probably not approve of that.
So there, okay I had to switch back the microphone here. anyway, I think it's time actually for me to pack down already now. There's not much going on here until ten o'clock. But I'm gonna do it like this. I'm gonna sum the whole thing up and then some more music and then we're going backSeamlessly into the normal broadcast again. So I am broadcasting here from Eggyby Gord in northern Stockholm near Tianstar Ingibi. It's a big barn in the middle of nowhere it feels, but a very nice place indeed. And Edison have been here for probably last years. It's like if if you remember data store parties, they used to be in that Alaska truck stop.Place that is no longer it's just been shut down. But Edison, well, this is their place, so that's where I think they're always gonna be. And the whole thing started at 3 o'clock. At 5 o'clock we got the beer truck here by Curbside. They were intending to start at 6 pm, but that did not happen as if if you he remember. Instead everything started at 8, but has been running pretty well since. It's been a bit of a soft start here, the big meaty things. That's tomorrow at 7 pm. yeah. So we're gonna see if we can cover something like that. I'm not sure if I'm coming back tomorrow, but we'll see. Anyway, this is the Hurricade Radio Network, and here's me, DD Demon, thanking you for listening and hope you have a nice day and remember to help all your demo parties as much as you can becauseThat keeps stuff like this happening and we want that. Leading you into the good night from my perspective, that would be Celestial Fantasia. Again, thanks for listening.
