He was once known as Daemon in the Amigaworld, and brings you stories about Amiga, retrocomputing, C64, demos, the demo scene and all things nerdy in the retro world.

Time for another episode of Flashback. Tracks from the past. From the land down under comes Syntax Demo Party 2021. It sends its signal from Melbourne in Australia. And we have no idea at this time who won the competition. But this hour it's all about tracked compo entries, in my order. And first out is DJ Kesso.Pole Cut House 2. Really nice one, a bit too short, but with a fine techno-ish sound.

DJ Kesso as I said, and he hails from the United States. Next up is ADKD, and it's Norway. Bergen Hårdaland, Norway to be exact. He is also known as Kaffir Slimer and Govvatsa Padam. I don't know if I got that one right. I don't think so. His song is called Blue Sky Diving. Klassik Amiga. Klassik, Klassik, Klassik.

yes, we've gone through a lot of genres so far. Jazz, had synthy loops, techno sounds, something more heavy. Good mix so far if you ask me. Now it's Sweden's time. It's Kordon or KRDM of Defiance. Rebel flavor. And if you remember Defiance is a group that also produced Slays, but he's not participating this time.

Everyone that saw the demo Compostream knows that it was accompanied by a robot, animated bender so to speak. It looked a little bit like him. Drunk as a skunk with hypno-toed eyes. yeah, he was kinda crazy. Perfect song for him, that one. Well, we are going on with Power Gold 1 from Germany and Mechanicus.

And that's the last of the tracks from the tracked competition. It's saturday today and I have not been able to get all the chiptunes, so sorry we're have to take a rain check on that one. It's always this way because the orgas are very busy, but still they actually found a little bit of time in their busy schedules and sent me the tracked tunes. So big thank you to all of you, really really helpful, I'm happy for that.We're gonna talk a little bit about the demo party, but now we're switching to Dr. Awesome, but tunes you've never heard from him on this station. It's missed.

So what about the demo party? Was it any good? Well, yes, yes it was. I haven't had the time to watch every single minute of it, but it was professionally produced and okay, all demo parties go into some troubleshooting mode and trying to find the right cables and... Why doesn't this work? And eventually it does. But still, they were pretty good at keeping the times and good show, good entertainment and lots of nice things to see.One thing that blew my mind a little bit was actually the Mega 65 demo. Yeah, the Mega 65 is a FPGA implementation of Commodore's failed Commodore 65, the one that they never ever released. Yeah, that is something.

He got his Commodore 64 in 1989 and his first Amiga in 1990. A huge fan of tracker music and have had a long standing dream to create a radio show playing that kind of music. In 2020, that dream came true and in december Amiga Flashback started as a podcast. It was later renamed Flashback, tracks from the past and here we are.
He is also an orga for Swedish demo party Edison and a total retro nerd.
