We have covered the demo scene since 2020, and play all the great chip tune music as well. Join us to hear tracked music combined with commentary from the geek-of-all-trades: DJ Daemon. He was once known as Daemon in the Amigaworld, and brings you stories about Amiga, retrocomputing, C64, demos, the demo scene and all things nerdy in the retro world.
We play tracker music composed on Protracker, Screamtracker, Fasttracker and Impulsetracker. It's music composed on Amiga and the retro-PC. Genres such as Chiptune, Synthwave and Retro electro.

You are listening to the Ericade Radio Network. Time for another episode of Amiga Flashback, the show that takes you back to the 80s and 90s. And today it's a bit of a station update if you want to. Coming along with a nice slew of totally new songs that have never ever been heard on the station. It's a bit softer, it's melodious and it's very very nice. don't do station updates anymore. So I think maybe this episode of Amiga Flashback can catch you up a bit on how the Arcade radio network is doing. And one thing that is going on right now is I'm sourcing more and more material from Amiga Modules Archive which has all kinds of modules. There's 3M format, IT format, mod format of course and all this. And I kind of made up a new rule.My point is that I want everything that is tracker music to be on the station But some of the songs you hear have been composed on a PC actually on a 16-bit sound cardNow I don't think that's much of problem, most of it would happily play in an Amiga. But even if I play some song that the Amiga couldn't handle, we are actually kinda honoring Amiga's spirit as much as we are playing the Amiga songs. So you puritans out there have to stand that sometimes music that were composed on the PC will appear here, both on the podcast and on the station. But I don't know, maybe not a problem, right?

Janice Brown and Jamboree. So what is a Jamboree you might ask? That's actually a big scout meeting. I don't know much about it because when I was a kid and joined the scouts I was bullied so badly that my first day there was my last. I can laugh at it now but it was no fun back then. Anyway what's going on whenwe are broadcasting. Well, I actually have started doing live broadcasts as much as I can on the weekdays and sometimes during the weekends as well. It has been quite popular actually and has kind of increased listening a little bit at least. So know this, it's somewhere around six in the morning I will start live broadcasting and I will continue until late evening at one o'clock. Yeah, well, that's AM then. Well,more music, little bit more tempo maybe, perhaps.

Skyline and Melville with a whirlpool of feelings. Okay, that sounds kind of dramatic, but it's a great song. So...we can of course wonder a bit on what's up on the station and technically it has been quite alright, there's been a number of malfunctions there, nothing that has taken the station totally down but we are struggling with YouTube, losing connection, some weirdness with the audio broadcasting software so bug reports are being sent by me almost daily at this time but who said life shouldn't be interesting and interesting it is

Jamboree. The artist's name is unknown. So yeah, another Jamboree obviously. Yeah, we have a few of these actually on this show. It was basically because I was searching for Janice Brown and found his Jamboree song and then I looked around and found some other songs with the same name that sounded great. So that's why you get three or four of those. They're all very different, I can tell you, so it's not going to be boring for you.At any rate, how about the audio stuff going on? Well, I have upgraded the equipment a number of times. The last month I have removed the Rodecaster as an audio card and inserted a classic mixing console and a really nice Samsung compressor that kinda makes my voice a little better. Okay, that's very layman-therms, but I won't get too technical.And also got myself a new microphone, a Neumann U87. So this Asian sounds great. That's my opinion at least.

If you have a problem with YouTube, if you think it kinda cuts out sometimes or stutters, it generally doesn't, but it has been known to occasionally stutter and kinda...mess around, then you can always use Twitch and if that doesn't work, go to radio.erikade.net and listen to the webpage. And if you have some kind of Android or iPhone device, there are a number of apps that you can use to listen to the station directly from your phone. Very good. that's a very weird crumpling paper effect there but I guess it's supposed to be a fire that's burning and crackling and stuff. The song is called RTS and Jamboree 2. Yeah, another of those I guess. So you might wonder how can I make this station better? Because right now it's mostly music and some banter. Is that good? I think it is. Menomus and Libris with Polar Wind. And it's noted on GenerationAmiga.com that it's now 30 years ago since Commodore launched the CDTV. We've spoken about it earlier in this podcast where we spoke about it and the also ill-fated CD32.Commodore had problems with the CDs, they didn't exactly know how to leverage them, so actually most Amiga owners never owned a CD. But of course, yeah they did exist and you could get aftermarket versions and stuff like that, but the CD for CDTV was, as I told you previously, machine that Commodore really didn't have any idea on what to do with, and yeah, it was a very expensive failure and maybe the start to the totalCollapse of Commodore

Started in december 2020, Amiga Flashback was the first name of "Flashback, tracks from the past". It features nice midnight DJ banter from DJ Daemon, interviews, discussions about retro-stuff and lots of tracked music. Most of it is Amiga tracked tunes. In May 2021, it was renamed and started allowing all kinds of tracked tunes instead of mostly Amiga ones.

He got his Commodore 64 in 1989 and his first Amiga in 1990. A huge fan of tracker music and have had a long standing dream to create a radio show playing that kind of music. In 2020, that dream came true and in december Amiga Flashback started as a podcast. It was later renamed Flashback, tracks from the past and here we are.
He is also an orga for Swedish demo party Edison and a total retro nerd.
