ericade.radio - Time for Flashback, tracks from the past - with your host DJ Daemon
Today we're doing one thing and one thing alone. We are playing the latest songs from 2026, just available on ModArchive. We are soon into March and we will talk about Edison, Revision and some other cool demo stuff. Starting this hour up with a really long song, a new one, from a few weeks ago. It's Sysfinnsson, the Auga Mooka song.
DJ Daemon welcomes you to an hour of the latest and greatest in chiptunes.
Sysfins - The aooga mooca song
DJ Daemon presents the first medley of today.
We got a set of new songs coming onto this station. They're also quite short, so that warrants a medley, the first one out of two. And it starts with Just Orb, Growing Old, which of course I know about. Then it's Beyond and Matrix, and it's Nikko, 42, 11 and Can Never Let Go of Hotaya. And finally it's Free CS, 7i73 with a broken keyboard.
JustOrb - Growing old
Beyond - Matrix
Nikku4211 - Can neva let go of hotaya
3zs7i73 - Broken keyboard
DJ Daemon mentions Revision 2026 and that the pre-sale of tickets has started.
talked about it a few weeks ago, but I need to mention that Revision 2026 has come out with two things. First out is tickets. The pre-sales are now open, so go to their homepage and just buy the tickets. I and Koreas have done so, and we will be going to Saurbrücken in a month from now, just to report live from the demo party. Also, the second one is Slipstream with the golden disc, a new demo, a intro.or as it's called the Revision 2026 invitation. Go there and listen and learn. Going on with D, U, V and the way back feels longer.
Duv - The way back feels longer
DJ Daemon laments that all tracked tunes are called chiptunes today.
You know how words change meaning over time? The word shiptune used to be a tune created with a tracker with samples that sounded a little bit like those SID tunes and Atari tunes and whatever. Today shiptune seems to mean well anything that is blipity bloppy enough. That would be computer game tunes, would be track music, it would be pretty much everything. So well that's what it means today I guess. So music then, ship tunes? Well, we can call them that if you want to. It's JustOrb and Tom Hanks!
JustOrb - Tom Hanks
DJ Daemon talks about Hypr, a new chiptune station that has just started.
A few days ago PSNF reported on the demo scene report that a new radio station has come online, a new chiptune station as it were. This one is called Hyper or HYPR. The address is course HYPR.website. It seems to have a lot of tunes, lot of metadata and the capability of pretty much looking like nectarine does. I don't know, we'll see what comes out of that. Cool right?Of course it is. Going on with mykey and love on impulse.
Majke_e - Love on impulse
DJ Daemon asks you tell us what kind of podcast you want.
In a few minutes from now you will hear another medley, the second one of today. This is Flashback, tracks from the past and I'm DJ Daemon. Remember that you can tell us what you want out of this podcast. You want more music, less music, more speech, retro games, demo, scene stuff, whatever. Tell us at radio at erikade.net. Going on with the DUI and in holo time.
Duv - In hollow time
DJ Daemon tells you that artist Beyond is featured five times in the episode.
Today we have no more and no less than five songs from Beyond. A relatively new artist on this station. We're happy to have them on board. So is it any good? Yeah, it is. It's awesome even. It's Beyond and Suffering. We are not suffering. We're happy to hear this.
Beyond - Suffering
DJ Daemon presents the second medley of today.
Time flies and we are ready for the second medley of today. It starts with Melvich and feeling groovy. What is the 60s slang coming back? I don't know, but it sounds good. Then it's Beyond again. Yes, same Beyond with Drastic and yeah, Beyond again with Kundalini Dreams.
Melvyzk - Feeling groovy
Beyond - Drastic
Beyond - Kundalini dreams
DJ Daemon talks about Edison 2026.
It's quite possible that you know this already, so sorry to repeat ourselves, but you know that Ericade is going to be the streaming station powering Edison 2026. It's in July here in Stockholm, Sweden, broadcasting live and having the demo scene live from a boat called MS Borgilla. Don't miss out on Edison demo party because it's awesome. Going on with punker and high high over the sky.
Punker - High high over the sky
DJ Daemon talks about next episode of this podcast.
Next week another game review I believe. What game? I don't know, I haven't fought this one through. I kinda looked at C64, Amiga and early retro PC games. Because that's what we're doing. But it's gonna be a secret until next week. What's it about? Going on with yes another one of Beyond's music. It's somewhere...
Beyond - Somewhere

🎙 People in this podcast episode
He got his Commodore 64 in 1989 and his first Amiga in 1990. A huge fan of tracker music and have had a long standing dream to create a radio show playing that kind of music. In 2020, that dream came true and in december Amiga Flashback started as a podcast. It was later renamed Flashback, tracks from the past and here we are.
He is also an orga for Swedish demo party Edison and a total retro nerd.
