ericade.radio – Time for Flashback, tracks from the past – with your host DJ Daemon
Time for flashback. Tracks from the past. With your host, DJ Daemon. And so we have entered vacation time. Let's relax and just enjoy the music. A-rock and Gubbdata, they are running as we speak, but we have to wait a week or two for some of the music. Except we have one brand new compo tune. We'll play it later in the program. But today's subject is happy, happy, happy, because of course we are.
DJ Daemon: And so, we have entered vacation time. Lets relax and just enjoy the music. Arok and Gubbdata are running as we speak, but we have to wait a week or two for some the music. Except, we have ONE brand new compo tune. We will play it later in the program. The theme of the day is “happy”,…
Traven – Happy Morback
DJ Daemon: No time for long stories, but we have some medlies for you. The first comes here. 25s
And that would be Travon and Happy Morbach. Time for today's first medley. Free songs and they're all awesome. They have a theme also, but I told you what that was. You will find out. It's Quasian and Happy Go Lucky, Alpha C and Happy Face and SPK Happy Throw from Sanxion 7.
Quasian – Happy go lucky
Alpha C – Happyface (4k)

Slaze – Flex your muscle
DJ Daemon: if haven't heard it on Gubbdata, you just heard it for the first time. 18s
If you haven't heard it on Goobdata, this is the first time you heard it. Ericade, radio and flashback tracks from the past. And Drax, Danish artist, is happy by mistake. That's not a mistake, that's great.
Drax – Happy by mistake!!!
DJ Daemon talks about Arok and Gubbdata. 29s
I watched A-Rock yesterday and I saw a really masterful DJing by Siona. Or should I say Mistressful? Is that what you say today? I don't know, but it was great. And next week you will hear the show about A-Rock and maybe we'll get some good data as well. We'll see. We're going on with Trafo and Happyland.
Trafo – Happyland
DJ Daemon: let's up the tempo. Time for some trance. 19s
Let's up the tempo a bit. We generally don't play that much trance music, but we have to because today it feels like a perfect day for that. It's genoese and happy days the trance mix, pretty obviously.
Geniewiz – Happy Dayz! (Trance Mix)
DJ Daemon presents the second medley. 21s
Look at the time, we're already in place for the second medley and we're going on with a lizard of spaceballs. Happy moment. A little bit slower because we need that. And then it's Hjorsson with happy ending and finally Kregel. Happy day!

DJ Daemon talks about new feature on ericade.radio Discord server. 32s
We might be in the middle of the summer, but I got some cool news for you. If you are on our Discord channel, our Discord server that is, then you have some new features that are working right now. You can search for tunes, and yes, you can request tunes from the station directly from Discord. Go to discord.io slash T-E-R-N. And now, Radix, happy Sundays.

DJ Daemon: should we slow down? Yes, we should. 30s
Should we slow down? Yeah, I think we should slow down. And we're doing that with Cyborg, Jeff and Crazyman. Happiness without limit. And I need to remind you that in a few weeks from now, on the 22nd of July, it's time for Edison Demo Party here in Stockholm 2022. It's online or it's physical. That is, you can go there if you want to.
Cyborg Jeff and Crazyman – Happyness without limit
DJ Daemon thinks the last song fits in Civilization. Then mentions Slaze's new song. 33s
This music fits perfectly into civilization, know, Sid Meier civilization. It was available for the Amiga in 1992 I think or something like that. Anyway, I wasn't telling you the whole story, so I'm doing it now. We don't have one new Slayz song, we have two. The second one, it's here, it's right now, it's called Reaktorlek, which is Swedish for Reaktor leakage. Yep, it's Slayz.
Slaze – Reaktorlaeck
DJ Daemon presents the third medley. 36s
Okay, that cannot be safe, so let's leave this area while we still can. Typical sleaze. And no more nuclear reactors blowing up. Let's go with a third medley instead, and it's Gaidora. Happy Halloween. Wait, what? Who's making those lists? Yeah, it's me. okay, never mind. Next, after that, it's Happy Crappy Ship.with someone who does want to be anonymous. And finally, sanctorum, happiness forever.
Ghidorah – Happy Halloween
Trackerartist – Happy crappy chip
Sanctorum – Happiness Forever
DJ Daemon thanks you for listening. 41s
We're not done yet, but here is me, DJ Daemon, packing up my stuff. And next week you get another hour of flashback tracks from the past. Until we meet again, go to Ericade.radio. We have all the back episodes of the podcast and a lot of nice stuff to listen to. Leading you into that great night. It's crime day and happiness. And the final song is something special. It's Björn Linde or Dr. Awesome and the Wormsong. But not the remix we always play. This is the original.
CrimeDay – HaPpYnEsS
DJ Daemon: Oh yeah, time to kill some worms! 08s
yeah, time to kill some worms!
Bjørn Lynne – Wormsong
This is a story of courage, honor and worms. War had cast a shadow over their once peaceful land. Gunfire filled the air as worm turned against worm. Where so many had fallen, others knew they must follow. For one such worm this day had already come. When he was two, his father had left, never to return.Three years he had waited for his chance to fight, three years of training both day and night. And though he was scared as he set off for battle, he knew in his heart it was something he must do. Three inches tall and armed to the teeth, a fine soldier he made, and his name was Boggy B.
scrambling up a hill and hiding behind a tree. He looked to the battle that raged down below. It was there he saw his friend Spadge stood upon a bridge. But another worm had also seen him and aimed to have him dead. Boggy called to Spadge but Spadge didn't hear and he never knew what hit him as he flew into the air. It was all too much for Boggy as he watched his best friend die. His heart filled with rage and he gripped his rifle tight. Charging down the hill he had to have revenge. What had Spadge done to come to such an end?Reaching the bottom of the hill, Boggy suddenly heard a click. He realised to his terror, there was a mine under his tail.
Hitting several cliffs and landing in a tree, Boggy pulled himself together, there was much he had to do. Spotting the enemy down below, he knew this was his chance. Boggy grabbed the stick of dynamite and dropped it on his head. The enemy he tried to run, but all he could really do was squirm. As the fuse ran out there was a mighty bang, and everywhere were bits of worm. With their leader blown to kingdom come, the enemy they turned and ran. Boggy bungeed from the tree and landed safely on the ground. As he watched the enemy squirm away, the cry went up. We've won the war.

🎙 People in this podcast episode
He got his Commodore 64 in 1989 and his first Amiga in 1990. A huge fan of tracker music and have had a long standing dream to create a radio show playing that kind of music. In 2020, that dream came true and in december Amiga Flashback started as a podcast. It was later renamed Flashback, tracks from the past and here we are.
He is also an orga for Swedish demo party Edison and a total retro nerd.

Mp3 file details
Open the waveform at full size (opens in a new tab)
- Scan status Whether the station’s analyser could read this mp3. “OK” means every number in this box was measured from the actual audio, not copied from a tag that somebody typed.
- OK
- measured from the file itself
- Scanned When the file was last analysed. If the mp3 is replaced afterwards, these numbers describe the old version until it is scanned again.
- File size How much room the mp3 takes on a disk, and how much data you use when you play or download it. It is roughly the bit rate multiplied by the length.
- 84.4 MB
- 88 533 517 bytes
- File last changed When the mp3 on our server was last written - usually the day it was uploaded, or encoded again.
- Length How long the recording plays. It is measured from the audio itself, so it is right even when a tag in the file says something else.
- 1:00:13
- hours : minutes : seconds
- Bit rate How much data is spent on each second of sound. More data keeps more detail when the audio is squeezed into an mp3: 128 kbit/s is acceptable, 192 is good, and 320 is the most an mp3 can hold.
- 196 kbit/s
- good quality
- Sample rate Digital audio is a long row of measurements of the sound wave. This is how many are taken every second. 44.1 kHz is the CD standard and 48 kHz the video and broadcast standard - both capture everything a human ear can hear.
- 44.1 kHz
- 44 100 measurements a second
- Channels How many separate signals the file holds. Mono is one. Stereo is two - left and right - which is what lets a sound be placed somewhere between your speakers.
- Stereo
- 2 channels
- Codec The method used to shrink the audio. MP3 leaves out the detail an ear is least likely to miss, which makes the file about a tenth of the size of the original recording.
- MP3
- Loudness The average loudness of the whole recording, the way a listener hears it (“integrated loudness”, in LUFS). The closer to 0, the louder. Music services aim for about -14 and podcasts for about -16, so that you do not have to reach for the volume between tracks.
- −11.6 LUFS
- on the loud side
- Loudness range The distance between the quiet passages and the loud ones, in LU (1 LU is 1 dB). A small number means an even, compressed sound - good in a car or on a phone. A large number means big swings between soft and loud.
- 2.1 LU
- very even
- True peak The highest level the signal ever reaches, including the peaks that appear between the measurements when the file is turned back into sound. 0 is the ceiling: above about -1 dBTP, a recording can crackle (“clip”) on some players.
- 0.0 dBTP
- close to the ceiling - may distort on some players
- Dynamic range How far the loudest peaks stand above the loud parts of the recording, in dB - the “DR” number that music collectors compare albums by. A low number (under 8) means the sound has been squeezed until everything is equally loud: punchy, but tiring to listen to. 14 and up means the music has room to breathe, with real hits and real quiet. It says nothing about how loud the file is: turning the volume down does not change it. Chip music made of steady square waves naturally lands low.
- DR 10
- 10.1 dB · moderately dynamic
- Left channel level The average strength of the left channel over the whole recording (“RMS”), counted in dB below the loudest level a digital file can hold (dBFS). More negative means quieter. Compare it with the right channel.
- −14.3 dBFS
- average (RMS) over the whole file
- Right channel level The average strength of the right channel over the whole recording (“RMS”), counted in dB below the loudest level a digital file can hold (dBFS). More negative means quieter. Compare it with the left channel.
- −14.3 dBFS
- average (RMS) over the whole file
- Channel balance The left level minus the right level. Close to 0 dB means both sides are equally loud. More than about 1 dB and the whole mix leans towards one ear.
- 0.00 dB
- balanced
- Stereo width How strong the part that DIFFERS between left and right is, compared with the part they share. A very low number (-40 dB or less) means both sides carry the same sound - mono in practice. A higher number means a wider stereo picture; a very high one can sound thin on a single speaker.
- −10.4 dB
- ordinary stereo
- Cover art in the file Whether a picture is stored inside the mp3 itself. A player shows it as the album art when the file is played somewhere else - in a car, on a phone, offline.
- Yes
ID3 tags Text stored inside the mp3 file itself - title, artist, album and so on. It is what a music player, a phone or a car stereo shows while it plays the file, and it travels with the file wherever it is copied.
Measured from the mp3 file on our server by the station’s own analyser. Point at a label, or select its question mark, for what the number means.
