Time for another episode of Flashback. It's Christmas time and here is me DJ Demon with another nice episode. Look, we got four channels to the wind today as we are going back to our roots only playing Amiga tunes, Amiga modules, Amiga track music, whatever you want to call it.
Yeah, it needs that. It's called a sampler. I don't know what that about, but it could be sample jam or something. I don't have the artist data at this time, but I will make it available in the playlist, the podcast and YouTube clips. We are going on with only Amiga today. Four channels, maybe eight if I feel like it.
Our matey is the Sea Dog Medley. We're doing piracy things right now I guess. Anyway, going on with more nice music, it's Sorrow of a Demon. And I don't know, I don't feel sad.
As I said, the sorrow of a demon. And I kinda get why he's said he has been misspelled. It's actually D-A-E-M-O-N, not D-E-A-M-O-N. But, okay, I'm not the grammar police either.
Sarco remix. Got some good news for you. Best of Ericade. Radio, the other station, is now leaving beta. We are in production. All the jingles are done, the station IDs that is, and everything is now functioning 100%. On weekends, no news, only the shows. And on weekdays, you also get the newscasts every hour. Great, right? The Ericade Radio Network, celebrating over 30 years of tracked music.
This one I know all about. It's Moby and the Sea of Love. Beautiful really. Need a little bit of a softer tune every now and then. But we need to up the tempo just a little bit. So here goes.
Something now no it's not from Abbey Road. It's not a Beatles song Talking about Beatles last one was called Sea of Love Moby as I said and it sounds like something you would get out of Yellow Submarine the movie with the Beatles I also said with the Beatles here a lot of references to my favorite group,
SCU2, Classic Amiga. You may have heard this, but everything that's a mod, that is, for Channel Amiga, is now in mono. We are actually doing so because a lot of people are complaining about how wide the stereo sounds. We talked about this, I won't go into details, but forcing those modules into mono will make them much more enjoyable. It won't feel like you're split in two when you're listening to it.
Right, got it, it's called Serenity. Well, they had to say that a thousand times, but we got a message. Nice. In a few weeks, good stuff coming your way. The station, the 24-7 station, will get a request system where you can actually search for a song, request it, and within 30 minutes or so, you will hear it on the radio.Next up is a song with a really cool story I will tell it to you in a while.
don't want to play, but I got an idea Why don't you vote for me? In the music competition and then we'll see I won't be so happy with a tiny little prize Of course I wouldn't mind some cash But if you vote for me and I'll be among the free Chances are that you will win for sure tomorrow Vote for me, I wanna win the competition Vote for me, or I'll never stop fishing Vote for me, I wanna win the competition Vote for me, uh-huh, uh-huh Vote for me, I wanna win the competition Vote for me, or I'll never stop fishing Vote for me,
for me, I wanna win that competition Vote for me, or I'll never stop fishing Vote for me, wanna win that competition Vote for me, uh-huh, uh-huh Vote for me, I wanna win that competition Vote for me, or I'll never stop fishing Vote for me, I wanna win that competition Vote for me! you're the best, Lay-N-Hut! Yeah, I know,This has to be the dumbest thing I heard for quite a while. It's Lainard of Avalance and it's called Vote For Me. Okay, it was actually for the four channel compo on Assembly 1994. And Dude, who competed here, actually tried to bribe the judges by, well, making a song that went Vote For Me.So how well did that work? Well, not that good. Or well, he ranked number 6 in the compo. Not that bad, I guess.
Scared temple. No, wait. It says sacred temple all the difference, you know Well in the 90s we had a lot of samplers running amok The hip-hop scene loved the samplers and I can totally get why So I'm take a bit of a risk here of playing a scene on two It's a commercial game a band aware.
Thanks for watching!
have internet access at the time due to some technical malfunctions, but hey, I'm gonna have to take a guess. I know this is an old hip-hop song that they can re-sample a bit, and that's the risk I was speaking about. Back in the day, people generally were tolerant against samplers in use, unless of course you sampled too much. But many old track music songs may actuallybe struck by copyright warnings, strikes and stuff like that in the future as they are actually tightening up the rules about sampling. Sad news for some of us, but well, that's how the cookie crumbles I guess.
The is called Savage. It is a bit savage. It's an inferno samplers going totally wild. But there is a good tune in there as well, so it has to be forgiven, I guess. This is Flashback, Trax from The Post, with your host DJ Demon and we are going on with We Don't Want You, but in all fairness, we do want you. Please keep listening.
I'm broadcasting this. I'm actually located in northern Sweden in the northernmost part of Dalarna near Sälen. The little area, the little village here is called Keletan and it's a very famous Swedish ski resort. Time when you are out here kinda stops or at least slows down. I am nourishing myself with tea and roasted, toasted, you know.
Wanna buy a helmet? Yeah, that's the name of the song. And no, I'm not in a market for such a thing, given the fact that I will not be skiing this week. But I will be sitting here listening to some cool track music, some, as said, programming projects, and just being very relaxed. The temperature here is minus 10 degrees, but it goes up and down a little bit. Not very windy, and the sunset is setting here.Yeah, know, yet another freaking sunset. I love those. Time for some nice, wet and mean tunes. Yeah.
a really nice tune called Showtune and before it as I stated nice, wet and mean. We've entered the second hour of the broadcast. Yeah, not a common thing around here but today due to the nice weekend feeling we have to have more music and a little bit more banter from me. And next up is a song which might have a Homer Simpson feel.for it. It's cold? Yeah, well, figure it out yourself.
If you're reading the show notes or some sort of playlist you will probably know exactly the name of the song otherwise I don't think you can see the Homer Simpson connection and it's a bit weird. Have you seen this Simpsons movie where he kind of picks up a pig and they have a lot of weird adventures? The song is called Song for a Pig. It's that simple.
Next step, body's groove. Move side. Body's groove. Next step, body. Body's groove. Next step, body's groove. Body's groove. Next step, body's groove.
This one was made by PT, I think that's Pro Tracker 3.15. So that's the reference. The song is called SP PT 3.15. Again, I can't really see the song names here. We'll fix that when the show is done, as I said. Okay, so what's going on next year? Well, we will be covering demo parties, yes. Artist interviews, I hope so.And will we also make artists portraits and retro game stories and things? Yep, you betcho!
Sounds of war, this is Flashback, tracks from the past, and I'm DJ Daemon. We've talked about what we gained this year, and that's been a lot. But what have we lost? What is not coming back next year? Two things. The first one is I will not be broadcasting live. That's because I believe COVID-19 will go away. I know about the Omicron variant that's...very unfortunate, but I hope in the future we will not have to work so much from home. That's the first thing. The second thing is associate DJs, that is trying to get other people to talk on this station. We have tried, but no one has so far asked to be enrolled. So we have to put a kibosh on that as well.
Sound of winter and we had sounds of war, so there's a pattern there, somewhere. If you want to talk to us, chat with us, or simply suggest stuff, go to discord.io slash T-E-R-N, discord.io slash T-E-R-N, and simply chat us up. We're friendly, I promise you, won't bite. Much.
So it's called Skeptic and some good news. EricKate.Radio, our website, is 100 % fixed up now. So the new features are working. You can set stars. You can read some information about the artists and generally get a good feeling for the station. We have two channels. The first one is called 247.That's just the music. And if you want to hear more of me, go to bestofarricade.radio, which broadcasts all shows and podcasts. Really something you want to do.
called a wack bank. I sometimes wonder if people that do track music are insane or something. That sure improves it, that's one thing for sure. Got some other good news. We are looking at the Twitch and YouTube feeds, you know, where you can listen to the station live. We're gonna fix them up. It's a bit boring. has not been given a new overhaul and new design and new looks for a really long time and we get something good coming up in January or maybe February So otherwise,
Nitroglycerin and that makes me think about two things outrun a decent computer game for the c64 Amiga and other Computers and of course the fireworks and it will start in a few weeks. Yeah I know fireworks are not made by a Nitroglycerin that would be too interesting and too dangerous I guess but if you get dogs and cats you might know exactly how horrible that is for them. I actually think we can do withfireworks. I get a fine nice little screen saver with that kind of pattern anyway. So who needs the real thing?
As you know, we don't have any information about the artist when I'm recording this, but I want to guess this sounds kind of like Aceman, but not entirely sure about that. Actually, I don't think it's him, but it should be. The song is called Waffle. The Omicron. Yeah, who wanted that piece of something, something, Well, not me.I have 3 Pfizer vaccinations under my belt so to speak and I do believe I actually had COVID-19 a few weeks ago. It was no fun but didn't kill me as you can hear. I hope that the statistics here is giving better data in the future because right now they're talking about some kind of, well you know, race to the top here and more and more people get infected but thankfully it's not as bad as the old Delta one.loss.
the AeroKade Radio Network with Swedish host and retro geek, quite ordinary Damon, behind the mic.because they exist here as well.
Vertical Horizon. Wait, how does that even work? Horizon is horizontal, that's in the name, and vertical is vertical, that's also in the name. come on, sometimes I wonder if they really just, they're just messing with our heads.
Sauron is the name of the song. And this is goodbye from me, for now at least. You're tuned to Verricade Radio Network and Flashback Tracks from the past. I'm DJ Demon, I'm packing up my stuff going, well, nowhere actually, because I'm already here. But thank you for listening and next week, somewhere around New Year's Eve, we will have a special New Year's Eve.broadcast and then some corn times await you. But station it's on at Ericade.radio.
