🎤 Production Notes
I was worried I couldn't make this show air on time, but I was able to get it properly fixed and ready in time. The orgas were helpful and made the tracks available to me.Colophone:You should know this one: it's "Men at work" and their old hit "They come from the land down under". Yes, it's a song about Australia and yes, that is where the show took place.
📝 Transcript
Time for another episode of Flashback. Tracks from the past. From the land down under comes Syntax Demo Party 2021. It sends its signal from Melbourne in Australia. And we have no idea at this time who won the competition. But this hour it's all about tracked compo entries, in my order. And first out is DJ Kesso.Pole Cut House 2. Really nice one, a bit too short, but with a fine techno-ish sound.
DJ Kesso as I said, and he hails from the United States. Next up is ADKD, and it's Norway. Bergen Hårdaland, Norway to be exact. He is also known as Kaffir Slimer and Govvatsa Padam. I don't know if I got that one right. I don't think so. His song is called Blue Sky Diving. Klassik Amiga. Klassik, Klassik, Klassik.
US and Norway. The question is can the Australians themselves do some good music? Yeah they can! Alpharisk and Syntax Hansen. Yeah he is also known as Acid Rain and is located in Venturna, South Knox, Victoria and yeah that's Australia.
Well, we got more from Australia. This time is Citrix, his real name is Chris, and the song is called 25K House.
nice so far. I have no idea who's gonna win but I will post the results on the podcast episode description tomorrow. Anyway next up is Baba is redacted. I don't know what's redacted here but I probably don't want to know. Official credits say that it's keygenismmade this happen but I also noted that there is a NoxW claiming to be one of the collaborators so we'll go with that. Nice tune!
yes, we've gone through a lot of genres so far. Jazz, had synthy loops, techno sounds, something more heavy. Good mix so far if you ask me. Now it's Sweden's time. It's Kordon or KRDM of Defiance. Rebel flavor. And if you remember Defiance is a group that also produced Slays, but he's not participating this time.
Yeah, it sounds like defiance alright. And that is a good thing. Arigato, Mr. Roboto. Yeah, Mr. Roboto hails from Australia and comes with some nice spare change.
There is definitely nothing wrong with your radio. Distortion has sounded that way since Jimi Hendrix invented it. Next up is Finland, yes, our brothers to the east. Mutatios or Samijutinen gives us liver box and sour milk.
Sound, sound, in my body, rock and roll Sound, sound, vibe in my body,
Everyone that saw the demo Compostream knows that it was accompanied by a robot, animated bender so to speak. It looked a little bit like him. Drunk as a skunk with hypno-toed eyes. yeah, he was kinda crazy. Perfect song for him, that one. Well, we are going on with Power Gold 1 from Germany and Mechanicus.
We need to slow down a bit. And we do that with Fractured Opus by Pseleducks. And he is from Australia. yes, then it's just one more tune and then we're out. But don't worry, the program will go on.
Now we are almost out of songs, one remain. And that will be Scorpion with Turbo Gabber. This one was a bit hard for me to find, got the tune, it was mislabeled in all ways it can be. But thankfully the artist himself helped me finding out the data. Thank you Scorpion, who by the way hails from North Karelia in Finland.
And that's the last of the tracks from the tracked competition. It's saturday today and I have not been able to get all the chiptunes, so sorry we're have to take a rain check on that one. It's always this way because the orgas are very busy, but still they actually found a little bit of time in their busy schedules and sent me the tracked tunes. So big thank you to all of you, really really helpful, I'm happy for that. We're gonna talk a little bit about the demo party, but now we're switching to Dr. Awesome, but tunes you've never heard from him on this station. It's missed.
So what about the demo party? Was it any good? Well, yes, yes it was. I haven't had the time to watch every single minute of it, but it was professionally produced and okay, all demo parties go into some troubleshooting mode and trying to find the right cables and... Why doesn't this work? And eventually it does. But still, they were pretty good at keeping the times and good show, good entertainment and lots of nice things to see.One thing that blew my mind a little bit was actually the Mega 65 demo. Yeah, the Mega 65 is a FPGA implementation of Commodore's failed Commodore 65, the one that they never ever released. Yeah, that is something.
From the department of I don't really wanna know, that was Dr. Awesome's stale socks. The demo party called Syntax Party 2021, it ran between today and the 27th of November, and it will end tomorrow on Sunday. But I don't really have time to cover that part of it. So I wish to thank you for listening. Some more Dr. Awesome tunes coming right up.you normally never hear on this station.
weird ending of Squish. Yeah, it's Dr. Awesome. Okay, so what's up on the station? Yeah, a few things are going on. I have actually updated the homepage, erikade.radio, so you can take a look there. You can see all the information on what's playing in a much better way. And also the best of erikade.radio, the news station, the backup station, the one running on the podcasts. It also shows what's playing and some informationevery episode. So take a look there. And next week actually finally you will get the starring system so you can rate the best and worst shows or the best and the worst track music on this station. Anyway going on with some more music we are close to the end.
And that was Dr. Awesome and Skinny Dipping. LaSong in this podcast, this broadcast hour, whatever you want to call it, is Dr. Awesome Mechanics. This is me, DJ Demon, with two little lessons. First of all, you need to listen to this podcast next Saturday at 9 PM, because then another episode will be out. And two, don't drive over your toes with your office chair. I can tell you that hurts. The Ericade Network. We love the demo scene.
