🎤 Production Notes
I love Dr. Awesome and his work and felt a special episode for him was a great idea. There are actually two episodes about him, but this is the one with his remixes and non-Amiga musik.Colophon:"The doctor is in" is written on the booth where Lucy sits in the comic strip "Snoopy". She provides pretty doubtful psychological services mostly to Charlie Brown.

You are listening to the Ericade Radio Network. Good evening and welcome to another hour of Amiga Retro music. And ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we're leaving 2020. Doesn't that feel fine? It does for me. That's one thing for sure. Today on Amiga Flashback, we're doing one thing and one thing alone. We are playing Dr. Awesome, but not the tracks that you're used to.We're playing remixes and stuff that is strictly said not Amiga, but could have been in an alternate reality.
Balls to the wall! A new Lone Geyser version that is really something. You have heard the original one on this station a number of times. It's on a rotation here. But this one uses a lot of modern music, synthesizers and stuff that, well, kinda makes it all cooler and better. But he has done a number of other tunes as well. We're going on with Space Deliria 2000.
probably know that his real name is Björn Lind, a Norwegian artist with some serious renown here on the Amiga front. He made a lot of modules and as you know he's also a very prolific creator of music, mostly for the Worms series of games. But I'm not gonna play those because well, we've done that a number of times already. And you don't want to get totally bored with him, do you?For the next thing he has quite a session. Not a jazz session, but a synth session.
you like this music just as much as I do, have a little bit of a suggestion for you. Seriously, this music can be bought from his webpage and for about 60 dollars you get the whole collection which actually includes broadcasting rights as well. This is why I can play it on this station without getting any copyright strikes or anything. So that is a good suggestion. And I had a friend from Great Britain, is a... well...
Corona and all things being what it is, we have not had the possibility to meet my brothers and their families. So no gifts given away. But of course, the kids there get their gifts from the parents and people like that. So they are not sad or anything. But he was totally taken aback by it. What? Seriously? Yeah, it's a pretty common thing we do here in Sweden. He could not understand it.
Cosmos! Yeah, it's Dr. Awesome because everything today is and we're going to go on here with a Union City conspiracy Also, yeah, okay, you know But I wonder one thing do you know which Games those tracks are from I think some of them are actually from the games that he sold his music to but some are not thisNext one, the Union City Conspiracy sounds like something from a game. I gotta google for it. See you in a bit.
I should have known this, but I didn't. Or I didn't remember that is. As soon as I googled for it, I immediately knew what it was. It was a game that came out in 1998, call it itself Nightlong, the Union City conspiracy. And yes, of course I remember it. But it was released long after the Amiga was history. I never played it, but I heard about it. And it was during those times we thought the Amiga might be coming back.Might as well believe in Bigfoot for all that matters.
So, 2021, is this the year we hit the gym again? Because that's what we do every year for about three weeks. Then we go back and whoever is owning the gym says, thank you very much for paying for the whole year, you idiot. well, no, I have some good stuff coming up really, because I always say that, but I mean it. I believe next year is going to be some cool subjects like the games we all wanted, we longed for,And when they came out we were so disappointed we couldn't really believe that nothing ever came out of it. Nothing good that is.
Bridge to the Universe Part 1. Before that it was Himalayan Summit. High Top. Yeah, I know what the summit is. Thank you, Bjorn. We're going on with empty spaces and it's time to close shop here for this time. I hope it's been nice here, although I admit I didn't have anything planned for this evening. But still, the show must go on and you have to say something and I...I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear me reciting the bible, the telephone directory or maybe some manual about some weird modem that was sold between 1993 and 1994.
Spaces 2. Yeah, that's what we are almost playing you out with here. The last song is gonna be Niagara also from Dr. Awesome, of course. It's silly to say that I mentioned it that we only play him today. Right, so this is DJ Demon saying bye bye and we'll be hearing you next Saturday or whenever the pod comes out shortly afterwards. In between, please bejoining our Discord channel, Ericade Radio Network, or simply stay tuned to the station. And I'll see you in a while.

About the artist Amiga Flashback View all tracks ›
Started in december 2020, Amiga Flashback was the first name of "Flashback, tracks from the past". It features nice midnight DJ banter from DJ Daemon, interviews, discussions about retro-stuff and lots of tracked music. Most of it is Amiga tracked tunes. In May 2021, it was renamed and started allowing all kinds of tracked tunes instead of mostly Amiga ones.
