🎤 Production Notes
I and a friend are building a software package that will become a commercial product. And that takes a lot of my spare time. So... That's why the station has to stand back sometimes.Colophon:No meaning to this title. It's just a name to describe the feeling. :)

You are listening to the Ericade Radio Network. Time for another episode of Amiga Flashback, the show that takes you back to the 80s and 90s. And today when we're broadcasting this, it's Sunday, so we're gonna take it a bit soft here, actually.
It's Onyx from Sonic Equinox bringing you Minerva. So why today? Yeah, it's as I said Sunday and yesterday I was kind of busy in a big project so I couldn't really make a new podcast episode. So we're hearing it today instead and yesterday you got Dr. Awesome for a whole hour. That was episode number 10 actually.Today it's Sunday and we are celebrating that by simply chilling a bit. And that means we are playing songs that are very high quality but a little bit softer.
Seems like Nighthawk have left the building. He thanks us for the fish. You probably don't know that reference, or maybe if you're nerdy enough, you do. maybe I'm underestimating you here. But it's actually from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The idea was that the dolphins were super smart and superior to humans in intellect. And they saw that the planet Earth, well, it's going away. It's...
Soda can with thoughts per second. A cool little point by the way. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the book series so to speak, was actually released as a computer game for the Commodore 64. Yeah that's right, it had absolutely no graphics but it had a command prompt and you wrote what you would do there.I and my father played it back in 80s actually. was a really fun little game and kinda hard as well. You probably should have read the book before you played it and there was a manual to it as well. And the graphics on the outside of the box had this planet-like creature holding his hands before his eyes. Yeah, that's true.
motion of a future crew brought you SSI intro and here's a bit of an educated guess if I may I believe that was from an intro for a cracked SSI game not sure about this by the way so yeah an SSI was a games developer that made strategic games such as war simulators and stuff so I kind of guess that that was what it was yeahand was kind of long so I shorted down a little bit but still a really sweet one. It's Sunday, we're keeping it really chill here and hoping that the Monday will not be as bad.
Sometimes I really have to fight to believe that this is actually made on a sampler and not something more advanced than that or maybe everything is samplers today I can't say really but it was magic. It was Freebrit with Stillwater's same feeling Well, all I can say is that a lot of the Amiga music is way above what you'd expect for a simple tracking software This is kind of what created this station so to speakif the Amiga wasn't so forgotten. mean most people know about the blipity blop of C64 music and yeah I love that too but the Amiga is a bit too close to what we have today so people may not think about the music so much and they really should. Modules and XM's and IT and whatever they call them they are magic to me.
DoctorBully and Magic12 bringing you Snowland. This is Amiga Flashback and we can be heard every Saturday at 9pm or in your podcast player any day whenever it isn't Saturday. I don't know how to say that really. By the way, we're going on with a little bit more tempo here. A little bit more...speed we can actually muster even though it's a very soft and nice Sunday evening.
Toilet Story with Gadora. I wonder if that's a reference to Toy Story. I can't say, I don't know how old that song is. And I actually don't know how old the first Toy Story is. But it was... It is certainly a possibility. Anyway, if you're into warp speed stuff, you know, getting a faster Amiga, John Hurtell or Shucky, Swedish guy who actually now delivers a new design.made by Terriblefire. Yeah, a new design of an accelerator card featuring one of the few lost 60 CPUs. They are hard to get and he is totally booked up now so there are no free slots. But stay tuned because in a few months maybe there are more opportunities coming up so you can get your own 1260. Yeah, I'm just saying.
Tobias Karlsson, when you're gone. I must say that a lot of the highest ranking modules, Amiga modules, on sites like Amiga Modular Archive, they are actually, they were made by Swedish people. I mean, we are kind of prolific in this business. Well, they are, I'm not, because I don't know how to make modules at all. I have tried a tracker, but nothing good ever came out of that.
Is that Mel Gibson? I hope it is, because that was Eternal Respect with Mad Max. Or maybe mindfully annoyed Max, or whatever he could be called. I don't know if you've seen the original movie, it's very different from the other ones. It actually has a very dark feeling, and yeah, okay, the others did as well, but it's before the war, and eventually Mr. Max here, Mad Max, gives up, and he just drives off, andand leaves the whole civilization behind or what's left of it. Mainly because some thugs killed his girlfriend. And after that we got a number of sequels and I would say the last one, Fury Road, was kind of fun. It was good action, really didn't really have any substance, which I must agree that I must say that Mad Max didn't either really. Yeah, that's...The thing and I don't know, I have not tried any Mad Max themed games, but I'm sure there were.
smirk with a typical shave. What is a typical shave? Well, when I was young I tried to shave with a razor for the first time, I don't know, but I didn't have any foam so I said I don't need that and you probably think that I really started bleeding but actually I seem to have quite a thick skin when it comes to that. It was a bit, well, in...annoying. I mean that's kind of the thing but it really didn't hurt. Then I got an electric razor and yeah well it works for all the bearer.
No Netflix, but a lot of chill, can tell you that much. Varricade Radio Network. DJ Demon here, leaving Amiga Flashback over to the next broadcast program. Or if this is you listening on the podcast, you can always select another episode. Thanks for listening!

About the artist Amiga Flashback View all tracks ›
Started in december 2020, Amiga Flashback was the first name of "Flashback, tracks from the past". It features nice midnight DJ banter from DJ Daemon, interviews, discussions about retro-stuff and lots of tracked music. Most of it is Amiga tracked tunes. In May 2021, it was renamed and started allowing all kinds of tracked tunes instead of mostly Amiga ones.
