AboutWhere in the world is DJ Daemon? Answer: in Stockholm’s northern grave yard, putting out the heavy tracked tunes for the undead, dead and living. In this outdoor broadcast, that was cut short due to battery issues rather than Zombies, you get some banter but mostly the greatest tracked music.

Time for another episode of Flashback. Tracks from the past. And here is me DJ Demon. I'm actually doing some outdoor broadcasting right now. Yeah, that's true. I am in the northern Stockholm in the sauna adjacent to a no cemetery here and Doing this because I feel it's fun to test equipment in a really raggedconditions so to speak. Cold weather but hot music. Let's get that thing started shall we?

Erik Zalitis 03:20.226

Yeah, that's I see and je suis baguette. I think that's French and mean I am a baguette. That's a this weird French bread. They like to eat very tasty. Anyway, why are we that is me? Why am I doing a live broadcast or at least a broadcast from outside here? Well, there are probably some cool demo parties in the spring and it's good to know that equipment works. This new thing is that I'm using an old mobile phone, Rode-Rodecaster and a microphone just to see if I can pack it together to a very very small kit that requires no external power. It runs on batteries and still can let you broadcast or record. I am recording this. This is a very very... Novemberish November so to speak. It's the 20th of November and it's very...very grey. But the music is not grey, it is very sparkling of colours.

Erik Zalitis 10:47.534

It's a dark halo and underwater voyage. Really soft, long, very, very... I would say it's a very nice, like gentle song, so to speak. At any rate, I'm sitting here and being totally 100 % Swedish here. Because I'm not drinking coffee, which, okay, that's Swedish too, but I'm drinking something called blåbär soppa, which I guess is some kind of...Well, warm beverage done on blueberries. I think that's the name of it. It's very nice to sit here, and it's not that cold actually. It's a very nice and fine November, so to speak. But anyway, what about the demo parties? Are there any of those going on? Well, I haven't seen anything that I really want to raven shout about this time.Maybe I missed something, but I the good ones are coming up next year. I'm looking forward to revision. I want to see phone data. I want to go there. And of course, I look forward to Edison, all those things. I generally covered the Scandinavian ones, but if you have listened to this podcast, you know, we also covered stuff from Argentina.

Erik Zalitis 15:13.102

Would you be very confused or even shocked that a weird song like this is called, well, Xenophobic Dishwasher? Well, you should be, because that's not its name at all. It's actually Weevil, and it's called something with Toaster, Tribal Toaster even, Yeah, that's the name of it. So what's up with the Amiga and retro NC64 scene?I don't know, there does not seem to be much going on at all. I'm looking for some cool new hardware, new versions of stuff. But so far it's very slim pickings. And I kind of looked into the warp 1260 and stuff like that. That's kind of the last thing I've seen coming up.Radar. However, you should know that Amiga Future is still around. That's a newspaper. I also have Amiga Addicts that is now closing its first year and it's been a good one. And here in Sweden, Dator Magazine, a Swedish magazine that has been long gone, they're making a special edition covering the retro scene, so to speak. It's a really good thing. Support them if you can. Support them all.

Erik Zalitis 21:55.446

Egyptian Battles by Tapp. And it's quite a party song here. The dance should be going on here, but I get like, I'm not kidding you, like 10,000s people around here and they're not dancing, they're not saying anything. But then again, this is a cemetery, so I would be very worried if they actually did. Anyway, you're listening to Flashback to Racks from the Past. And why am I doing all this kind of experimental stuff? Yeah, because that's what the station is to me. Just an excuse to play some really good music and just seeing what goes and what doesn't. Just testing stuff. A lot of technical development. But right now the station is kinda not being developed at all. There's nothing wrong with it certainly, but I simply don't have time to do really cool stuff. But cool stuff is coming and I'm...Promising those, you know request systems and stars and everything that will be coming Just need more time. I and a friend we're working on a documentation system that will sell that we will sell as a monthly Subscription service and that's taking all my time. Anyway, yeah,

I'm not gonna bother you with that Let's do what we come here to do listen to musicErik Zalitis 26:22.958

Contradictionary life, contradictory life, It's by Okhtumi and Okhtumi is one of those artists I don't really really realize how good he or she is. I'm not much about them, but hey, that's great I can see my power bank is running down a bit It's only two lights out of four and yesterday there was a really big power outage No, sorry with two days ago where the whole southern Stockholm wentdark for a few hours and one very famous influencer if you want to actually wrote on twitter that my god the power is out my telephone is about to die i'm sending this message pretty much yes how is your life and at this time it's very easy for people here in stocom and any big city basically to forget that power is not a promised thing it's not always functioningSo I would say, wherever you live listening to this, take up some sort of prepping. You don't have to go full survivalist mode, but don't take this whole thing with power, with internet, with water, with food and stuff for granted. You don't have to spend a number, you don't have to spend much money on it, but having some kind of basic preparedness for when stuff doesn't work, that is a very good idea.

Erik Zalitis 31:05.254

Purple Motion and Fast D. Well, it's a very fast D. Whatever D is. Maybe disco? I have no idea. At any rate, this is flashback, tracks from the past. And we are playing tracks from a far past and sometimes really new tracked modules of all kinds. Also, remember we have a digest station. Seems kinda weird. What's that?Well actually it's a station where we run all the podcasts, special episodes and yes, this will get on there pretty soon as well. You can listen to it if you go to EroKade.Radio and then you just look at this listen now thing. Normally you listen to the standard station there, but you can actually scroll down to the bottom and then you can switch to the best of EroKade.Radio and then you will get...all our podcasts and as I said special stuff. So that is a good thing if you want to hear me speak. I'm just kidding. It's good music as well.

Erik Zalitis 35:34.694

Northern Lights. I think there is a word missing there. I have to check my notes when I get home. I don't have an internet in here, out here. It's 10-4, and that's the name of the artist obviously, but 10-4 actually means something. It means I copied that message. It's from the old police radio systems they had in the United States many years ago. They don't use it anymore, but they could say like, that's 10-4, which means, yeah, as I said,I copied that message and the 10 is always there and that is because all radios could kind of cut out the first sentence of the first syllable or something so then you can sacrifice that 10 because it didn't mean anything. You were just guaranteeing that the next syllable, the next part of the sentence would be heard and that's the number that you want to say.

Erik Zalitis 41:18.616

That was FN Store and Water of Oasis. Well, the power bank is down to one flickering light asking for mercy. I don't know how long I can keep running here. I think the power can go out at any moment now. So I'm gonna try.continuing here, and if this doesn't work out, the rest of the program, well, it will be me at home sitting in front of the big microphone. You know, the usual place. We'll see how long we can run with this.

Erik Zalitis 45:05.706

I we are running on fumes. Everything is lit up but can go out any second now. The poor little light blinking there is really, really flickering. It isn't even stable anymore. But hey, that amuses me a lot. This is why we test stuff. We want to see how long can stuff run. Obviously I need a better power bank. Now the road caster is pretty...

Erik Zalitis 49:11.416

Team So and would you come with me? And actually we have to part our ways here, dear cemetery. The power is running so low now that I don't risk running this anymore. So in a few seconds you will be teleported into my studio in Solna. And we can continue discussing stuff there.

Erik Zalitis 52:45.23

and blissful confusion. There, I'm back here in Solna in my broadcast room. Three square meters of the radio station basically and everything else. Look, I might have forgot something here. You know, there is one demo party coming up real soon that seems to be really cool. It's called Syntax 21. Seven days to go. That would be next Saturday I think. You can go there by going to Syntaxparty.org We are gonna cover it somehow, but I can't say much about it right now. At any rate, we are going on with the two last songs before it's time to close this podcast.

Erik Zalitis 56:57.166

Jumaro Kusuga, Dahil Sayu. And leading you into that good night is Nuki with a white aura. My name is DJ Demon and next Saturday a new show. I have no idea what topic it's gonna be. Possibly it's gonna be about Syntex 21 as I said previously, but I have no idea. Thank you for listening and go to Ericade.radio.
