🎤 Production Notes
The very first episode of the show that later became the podcast. Hence it's not called Amiga Flashback.Colophon:It's a reference to the Star Wars episode 1 called "the Phantom menace". It's a prequel to the original episodes and a pretty impopular movie. Hence this show episode is likely to get a higher rating. Not that it's a big achievement.
📝 Transcript
You are listening to the Arikade Radio Network. Here's another hour of Amiga retro music. it's 9 o'clock in the evening here in Sweden. This is my favorite two hours, the golden hours between 9 PM and 11 PM. And I will keep you company, so, well, time to open a whiskey, a beer, or maybe some tea.
Yeah, that song is leaving the air like a cold breeze here on the Arikade Radio Network. Yep, the song is called Breeze, so it fits, doesn't it? More Amiga music with some kind of intro music.
Time to compare notes with your host, Damon. Some people tell you to sit less in front of your Amiga. Some people tell you to sit more in front of it. But you know, they agree on one thing. You should use your Amiga. And of course you should. You know where I got the idea for this speech? Well, they say the same thing about alcohol. And I don't really disagree.
light a anonymous little tune there. It's called CompyTune and I may have a memory this may have been one of the competitors in the Arikade Network BBS competition in 1995. Don't know what place it came on but probably high.
Amiga Revelation and now we're going on the wild side. No, it's not that song. It's actually Dr. Awesome with Awesome Wild Walk.
Do you remember when Paula sang the blues and Denise had the moves? This is the Ericade Radio Network, and we remember. Yeah, of course we do. Why did Denise sing the blues? Yeah, well, because she was barely adequate as a graphics chip in the early 90s with the PC, VGA adapters had come and become much better, but Paula still had the moves.
I'm sorry to be so repetitive and stuff, I want to remind you on the 19th of December, which is next Saturday, not this one, go to www.fondata.org because we have really a party, or we, some guys in Visby does. You should really go anyway.
I have no idea who this Palle is, but this is his fame, so I guess he's happy. More freedom!
The Ericade Radio Network. Stuck in our mother's basement since the 80s. yeah, I can tell you how I got this idea. I kinda imagined a nerd stuck in his mother's basement at age, I don't know, 35, 45 something. It's not just that fun anymore at that age, I believe. Well, I don't have that problem. I have a home of my own, a bunker of course, because you must have a little bit of class.
This is one of those songs that people recognize, everybody knows exactly what it is, but I have no idea what the tune's name is or where it comes from. Okay, it's... I don't know what the song is called either, but the movie is called Bridge Over River Kwai, and it wasn't that happy really.
If you haven't heard this song already, can tell you why it was added this Sunday. So it's brand new and still very, very old.
Time for some questionable wisdom from your host, Deamon.
very well named song I must say. It's called Ambient Massive and it is massively ambient or I don't know, vacant or whatever. Well, we're pretty vacant here, all of us, because it's very late in the evening.
Yeah, well the Amiga, the 32-bit wonder that some people thought was 16-bit and played 8-bit tunes. That's a thing. And it is presented to you by a 2-bit hack that really shouldn't be on the air.
Ericade Radio Network remembers the Commodore Amiga.
for awesome I don't really understand what the heck is he doing here he has used the two last months here on this station being awesome I am jealous I could never make music no no not like as good as he could I could not make music I'm saying thatErik Zalitis
I really don't know about things. Do they have emotion? Because this is very sad aisle, according to the title. Anyway, we are leaving this hour and I'm going home and taking all my toys with me. Which is not very much a trick because I live here. Yeah, I live in a radio studio. It's sad. But what's good is you get to hear one of the greatest Amiga tunes from a computer game. Well, okay, not Chris Hulsbeck quality really, but nearly. Laser Squad.

About the artist Amiga Flashback View all tracks ›
Started in december 2020, Amiga Flashback was the first name of "Flashback, tracks from the past". It features nice midnight DJ banter from DJ Daemon, interviews, discussions about retro-stuff and lots of tracked music. Most of it is Amiga tracked tunes. In May 2021, it was renamed and started allowing all kinds of tracked tunes instead of mostly Amiga ones.

🎙 The people behind the podcast
He got his Commodore 64 in 1989 and his first Amiga in 1990. A huge fan of tracker music and have had a long standing dream to create a radio show playing that kind of music. In 2020, that dream came true and in december Amiga Flashback started as a podcast. It was later renamed Flashback, tracks from the past and here we are.
He is also an orga for Swedish demo party Edison and a total retro nerd.
He was actually a listener from the time of the first ericade-station in the 00s. He came back as a listener in 2020, when the station restarted. Later he voluntered to build the new website of the station and also joined as a cohost of the podcast. He runs his own site called the Retro spirit.
Fellow retro geek and creator of great music on his daw.
He describes himself like this: "Pure 8-bit chiptunes! All Tekmann music are solely made on Gameboy units modded to perfection... No computer producing just pure chiptune bliss ;)".
A true retro geek and sysop from the 90s. He lives with his family in Sweden and enjoys sharing his passion for retro computing and music. He is sysop for Swedish BBS "This old cabin".
Created a report about Impulsetracker for us in 2022. Also voiced our messages for christmas 2022 in co-operation with the Retro spirit.
