Just a show with new music and some information about what's going in the demo scene and the station. Nothing special.
📝 Transcript
Time for flashback. Tracks from the past. With your host, DJ Daemon. We are in the middle of summer. Great news, everyone. And today we are playing the new music, and we are also talking about the new website, and we are revving up for Edison 2026. First song out today is Windscation and Romanian winter.
Brand new tunes and some old ones. And also a medley because that's what we're doing right now. First out of this medley is brand new, it's moody music and gook back tunes or something like that. Then it's Ray Hamilton Egg Adventure Java, and finally Toppy and Scorsia Terrania.
Summer is here again. And yes, that means a little bit slow times for everyone. Not that many new releases or demo parties, so don't I don't have that much new music. But as soon as I get it, I put it on the station, I promise you. Also, we are revving up for Edison Assembly and some of the other cool demo parties. And that's what I got for you right now. So no cool stories. But music, we got it. Night Hawk and Trapped in a Bottle.
Let's mark a very important date in the calendars. That would be next month in July. 17th to 19th of July. That's when Edison Demo Party comes alive. And that would be here in Stockholm on a boat called MS Borgilla. Eric. So if you come there you can talk to me and Corius, who will be on location. Also, yes at demo parties you get cool out.Demos, competitions, new tracker music, and a lot of interesting things that you didn't know you could do with shaders. So you should absolutely go there. And our coverage is covered, so to speak, on ericade.Maybe we like Nighthawk too much, but then again maybe not. I don't know. Can we get enough of his great tunes? We cannot. So we're going on with Astral Dreams.
Ericade.radio, you know our website is almost complete. We are close to finish all the nice stuff. And what would that be? What is the new functionality? That would be clickable tags, so you can see everything we have from the revision or Edison or GURP demo parties. Also, you have artist pages now, so you can see details about the artist and what songs they have.So go to arricade.radio and experience the brand new website. Yeah, it looks like the old one, but it has new features and that's cool enough. So Beyond is out with something new. She has created a song that isn't repetitive, but it's called that, you know, repetitive.
Are you keeping up with Commodore? Yeah, maybe you shouldn't, because I get the feeling they are not long for this world. Desperation seeps in as Commodore, the new Perifractic's Commodore if you want to. They are selling something that looks like a Nokia telephone from yesteryear. It looks like a normal you know, those phones we had in the 200s, but it has some social media functions. I don't think anybody wants that. But then again, that's pretty much all they're selling. And I like Commodore, I like to see them revived. But I generally don't have much confidence in their capability of creating a future for a product that is in the past. I really think it's a sad thing to see. But I hope for the best and hope that Commodore.net can rise again. Let's hope they can find some really interesting, not overpriced product one day to sell. But we have nothing to sell, we have a lot to.Slay going on with jester and foreign gun.
Flashback tracks from the past, and here we play the best ship tune and demo scene music. I'm DJ Daemon, and let's go on with the second medley of today. First song in that is If You Happy Remix. Yeah, if you haven't forgot your childhood, you know exactly what that is. It's Moody Music, then it's BST with piano bar, then it's Retro 104 and Brain Space.Voyage and BST comes back one last time with Inger Inger? I don't know what Inger is, but it's good.
Can it get more blipty blop than that? I don't know either, but that is a good try anyway. And here's a question for you. Is the Demoscene dead? And the answer is no I don't think so. But on Puet, if you know that old site, they have started a new okay, I have started a new discussion about the demoscene and how dead it is.Not very much, but people are debating it hotly and heavily, and people are angry, happy, all over the place. They talk about the old times and the new times, and that everything is bad and that everything is good. You should definitely jump into that discussion. It's fun. As discussions go, why not? Poet is basically Reddit for Amiga, C sixty-four, and demosy nerds. SoWhat's new from Fallen Heroes? That would be Nightfall and De Boer.
Demo parties are upcoming, you might ask. And here is the answer from demosou.org. We are in June and heading for July. And to take a few of the demo parties coming up, it would be at party 2026, Roma.exe 2026. Then in July, Shadow Party is coming back 2026 Somarh here in Sweden.Lost party, but it isn't lost, it's found. Then we have some other ones. Edison, I talked about it in AROC in Hungary. That is one you don't want to miss. Po Gadotta. Yeah, it's a small one here in southern Sweden. We love that one because me and Corius, we were there there a few years ago. So that's what we're looking for. And yes, of course, Finnish Assembly Summer 2026 is upcoming. And coming up right now, that would be DJ Insen.
Medlies are so nice, so I give you a third one this hour for this show, for this podcast episode. And that would be something starting with Beyond, twice Beyond. She's busier these days, releasing new stuff. It's life isn't easy. It's day of meditation. And then is my god, another one I can't pronounce, but I will try. Guno Gusarkia, or maybe it's gono grusarkia.Morning jogging hamster style? Sh I don't know. You're this anyway.
As it is summer right now. Well, as I said earlier, the tempo is slower, so don't count on weekly new shows. I will try, but we'll see if flashback can keep up the tempo. But the website arrica.radio keeps the station going twenty-four-seven and the best of arrica going as well, if you want to listen to other podcast episodes. So go there now and enjoy some really nice shiptune and demo scene coverage from yourself.Truly. See you in a week. I guess, I hope, we'll try. So, what's up? Well, that would be Blue Orian and the Moon Gate.
DJ Demon here to close up shop here on Flashback. Tracks from the Post and leading you into that good night. That would be Clurus and falling upwards. No, I don't know how that works either. And final song of the day would be Warder. And now I'll try it again. Tijan Piritin Valsi. I think that's a Finnish name. And I'm finished here. DJ Demon signing off. Thanks for listening.
