Time for flashback. Tracks from the past. With your host, DJ Daemon. Today we're celebrating Tola. Yes, the ship from the computer that was known to the world as Amiga. Four channels, no more and no less. Only Amiga, only Mud Tracker format. And today we're starting up with a tracker artist and alcoholic score.
Nice tune, you are tuned to flashback, tracks from the past, and I am DJ Demon. We're not broadcasting from Stockholm right now, we're broadcasting from Kleppan, which is in the northern Sweden, and it's a ski resort. I'm not skiing, but I'm looking out here through the window and it's the blue hour when everything has a blue tint to it, and it's beautiful really, very nice. We're going on with a tracker artist, an unknown hero with the song called Free Wise.
It's Christmas, but we are not celebrating that right now, not in this show at least. We're celebrating Pola, the very able computer chip that made the Amiga sing. Pola is the sound card if you want to call it that, but it was soldered to the circuit board, so it was part of the equipment. And Amiga was very famous because it had a chip. When PC had PC speaker with blips and blops, the Amiga had a real sampler. Okay, 8-bit, but still.really, really good. We're going on with 48 TPI.
2024 is almost here. It's New Year's Eve in a few days from now and I wonder have you taken any wows like you shouldn't eat so much get out more Meeting more people hitting the gym less alcohol and stuff like that. Yeah, I haven't either So that's good. We're going on with 500
few days ago it was Christmas Eve or the 24th of December. It's a special day for me, not just because, well, I don't know, you get a lot of presents here in Sweden, gifts and packages and stuff. Well, actually I'm born on the 24th of December, so today I am 49 years old and I have been for a few days now. Well, celebrate it if you want to or not. I'm happy for all the nice gifts I were given.Anyway, I got something for you, a little bit of a treat. It's common frat.
Three years, that's right, it's three years since Flashback, Tracks from the Past started and at that time it was called Amiga Flashback with Demon, later DJ Demon. Yeah, three years, I mean we've been doing this, 126 episode is this and we have had about one episode every Saturday except the last months due to me not having time to make the shows anymore. But anyway, that's where we are, we going on with a kiss at sunset.
2024 is almost here as I said, and what will happen with the station during that eventful year? We don't know, but we are going in with two stations, one podcast and a lot of fun. A lot of music, a lot of old fast tracker, impulse tracker, pro tracker, noise tracker, whatever you want. And that's what we're gonna continue doing. When it comes to flashback, it's gonna be a monthly show, not weekly, because I don't have time to make it a weekly show. But I hope you enjoy it and we are going on with abstraction.
Yes. Do you remember the 90s? I do, because I was born back then. I'm actually born in the 70s. So I grew up during the 90s. Anyway, I remember there was a lot of techno music coming out and everybody loved it. Not everyone, but most did. And I remember when Acid House was the thing and everybody was saying, acid. And I always wondered, why do you tell the world that you're doing drugs in music form?I don't know, but here is another tune called Acid Age.
Back when everything was going on back in the 90s I didn't do any drugs whatsoever. The most strong thing I ever drank was coffee and I drank a lot of that. Actually, I didn't like it until the 20 hundreds. For some reason I felt it was a very adult taste. But when I started working at the office that was what was served and I started enjoying coffee. Anyway.I also enjoy beer and it's something I started when I was 26, before that I had never drunk anything alcoholic. Anyway, here we go on with Iacidophilus.
Yeah, you're listening to Flashback, tracks from the past. I'm DJ Demon and we are only playing pola music today. That is music that can play on an Amiga. Nothing else. It's the module format, the most common tracker format there is. We're going on with Eido Eleonora.
Good set of memories when it comes to the Amiga. Happy memories and some interesting ones. Why did I even have an Amiga? My father said, you are going to get a computer as your birthday. And I said, yeah, I want a PC. And he said, no, no, not PC. That's out of the scope of what he wanted to buy to me. He said, you should have an Atari instead. And I said, no. And we compromised with the Amiga. It was a great compromise and I'm happy I did get an Amiga that year because it was something that will linger in my memory for many years from now.
Afternoon, and we are going through the library of interesting Amiga songs. get thousands of them, so don't worry, we will get more chances to do a program like this in the future. We're going on with Agonized Mind.
Which is the best Amiga game? Well, that's a hard question, but I have a number of contenders. Nuclear War, Civilization, North and South, and a number of other great games. some of them existed only on Amiga, and some of them were also on the PC. And Lemmings, don't forget Lemmings, that was a wonderful game. Going on with Agony Intro, and I don't know if this is actually the music to the game Agony.
Yeah, we got 10 minutes to go until it's over for this episode. But I'm happy that you've been listening and that what you just heard was agony intro as I said. We're going on with Lost Souls Dead. And remember, we are always available on the internet. Erocade.radio.
yeah, exactly what you come to expect from the Amiga. Samples ripped from some other source, like a vinyl record, a CD or a radio show or something. Anyway, I'm Didier Demon and leading you into that good night is SplitSecond. We are Ericade.Radio and if you want to hear something more from us, just go to Ericade.Radio.
