It's time for an interview and we have spoken with Veiland who is the organiser of Edison. We have to thank Corius and the Baron of Dubstep for this interview. Yes, hey, welcome. Finally, you're a very busy man and one of the main organisers here at Edison. Welcome. Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here under this enormous stress. Yeah, we know that you're on a tight schedule, so we'll just quickly run through some of the questions we have here. And one of the questions I have is like how much planning goes into an event like this and how far in advance do you start planning for it? Oh, yeah, I would say half a year in advance, the planning starts. Oh, wow. This year we actually started in December by booking the venue, so we got a lower fee and stuff like that. And then it's all of the spring and then it kicks into higher gear during the Easter party in Easter. And after that it's full steam ahead from the planning side of things. So how many people are involved running around making sure things are working throughplanning phases and on like live on set now? Yes, that's a difficult question to answer actually. We always had trouble finding enough volunteers for the planning part. But we are a core crew of, I would say between six and eight people that do various amount of planning work. And then on location today, yesterday we have, I think at least 10 people, maybe 15.that helps out. Right, and do you get like, is it people you already know or do people contact you randomly on Discord or on Twitter or something that like, I want to help out? How do you get a hold of people that want to help create this event? I think nobody has ever volunteered voluntarily.

Erik Zalitis 41:08.334

So it's mainly people I know that I nag and whine and complain and you know repeatedly until they get tired of me asking them and say okay. Alright, so how long have you been doing this and being involved in the demo scene and the events in the demo scene? I started going to demo parties in the late 90s.with the Remedy scene zone in Seoul, 9-StarCon. It was the first party in 98, think, even 97. Right. And Edison, I was at the first Edison when it was run by Radiant and Frost and those people, the old crew. And then the organizer hats sort of slowly shifted around to the current constellation.over a couple of years. Right. And speaking of compos, what's your favorite type of compo? If you had to choose from all of the various, not including or not limiting to what we have on Edison, but just like anything, what would you say that would be?I hope it's gonna be the TIC 80 fight battle, I think that's fun. But in more general terms, I really enjoy the old school executable music composes always. I'm a chip tune nerd, so that's my favorite compo by far. I agree. But yeah, I'm looking forward to the TIC 80 battle. Lastly, any shout-outs to people listening? Do you want to send some greetings to...to people you know, groups you know, feel free. everyone, mean, there are so many people to thank for making Eddison possible. It's just I'm going to miss, you know, someone who's even more important. But the big shout out goes to Fiegelhass, who always creates the most astonishing art direction, animations and jingle music for Eddison.

And he has created the the intro track of Tune for this year'sErik Zalitis 43:24.526

Event yes and speaking of tracks I We're not gonna play it right now, but you had a favorite tune I asked you previously if you have one and what's that? It's summer is over, but now I was a dread by a sir not a sir not yeah So we'll we'll dig that up and play it Play it soon, but speaking of soon what's next on the menu DJ demon?Well, it isn't what you hope it would be, because we can't source that song, it's copyrighted, sorry. But we can go on with something cool. That would be the Track Music Competition from Edison. And we are going on with the third place. It's Murderparty85 with Clint. And it gets one... It gets 75 points.Second place, Silver Medal. And the silver goes to Lost Nights, a song by Alpa and Weather. 105 points.

Erik Zalitis 51:16.334

We are at end of the show so this is perfect. Who wins you ask? 113 points are awarded to KRDN of Defiance and Alive, Still Alive, Still Connected. Leading you into that good night that is. This is Flashback Tracks from the past and I'm DJ Daemon.

Erik Zalitis 54:42.632

You tuned to Flashback, tracks from the past, and I'm DJ Daemon. Ending this whole show is Skaven 252 and Revenge of the Cat.
