We have covered the demo scene since 2020, and play all the great chip tune music as well. Join us to hear tracked music combined with commentary from the geek-of-all-trades: DJ Daemon. He was once known once a Daemon in the Amigaworld, and brings you stories about Amiga, retrocomputing, C64, demos, the demo scene and all things nerdy in the retro world.
We play tracker music composed on Protracker, Screamtracker, Fasttracker and Impulsetracker. It's music composed on Amiga and the retro-PC. Genres such as Chiptune, Synthwave and Retro electro.

Time for flashback. Tracks from the past. With your host, DJ Daemon. It's Halloween, but we got more important stuff to do. You see, today you get a brand new top list of our own. We asked our fellow geeks on Discord to pick the best songs that are, you know, diamonds in the rough. Huge thanks to someone named Nate, Curious, Mrs. Beanbag, Gargay, Freeful and the rest of you.
Virgil, again he strikes with something awesome. It's called Mystified and this is a fast track here in Modul. Now you're gonna hear the same song again, the original, also by Virgil, but this time as an Amiga 4 channel Modul, which is the best.
A big thank you to someone named Nate who suggested both of those songs and for the reason to compare them. I actually can't really say which I like better. I think the Fosstracker is a winner in my book. And we are going on because we have a top list to do.
How old is this? Yeah, you won't believe it. 1989. It's BA1 by BitArts of Red Sector, Inc., from a demo from that year. Again, it was someone named Nate that suggested it, but we have other people that have good ideas.

If you don't know what game we're talking about here, you may not be as retro as you think you are. It's Busy Brain of Defeat and it's the music from Ghosts and Goblins, the hardest game I ever played on the C64 and I have played Impossible Mission. I'm just saying that.

Malmen and Dragon Fruit. I am at a little bit of a loss here as to who requested this song. Yeah, I've been sifting through a lot of old requests, so yeah, there's always that.
Soul-o-matic by the legendary Purple Motion. They are so good, so we're gonna play one more. It's Starshine, a little bit more mellow.
As I said that was Purple Motion with Starshine and next up is a nice song which has a bit of a story.
Say this? Okay, it's Chetty with Angel Mick and yes it has a bit of a story, can't read all of it obviously, but he writes in the comments. Yes it's true, this was my first original composition on the 4 channel Pro Tracker. It's been a long time, finally decided to let it rip on more channels.Basically this song focuses around the Contra series, Konami showtor. I loved the game when I was a kid and I thought wouldn't it be cool if there was a really huge mech boss that you had to fight at the end of the level with this music in the background. Yes, it is. Great idea.

🎙 The people behind the podcast
He got his Commodore 64 in 1989 and his first Amiga in 1990. A huge fan of tracker music and have had a long standing dream to create a radio show playing that kind of music. In 2020, that dream came true and in december Amiga Flashback started as a podcast. It was later renamed Flashback, tracks from the past and here we are.
He is also an orga for Swedish demo party Edison and a total retro nerd.
He was actually a listener from the time of the first ericade-station in the 00s. He came back as a listener in 2020, when the station restarted. Later he voluntered to build the new website of the station and also joined as a cohost of the podcast. He runs his own site called the Retro spirit.
Fellow retro geek and creator of great music on his daw.
He describes himself like this: "Pure 8-bit chiptunes! All Tekmann music are solely made on Gameboy units modded to perfection... No computer producing just pure chiptune bliss ;)".
A true retro geek and sysop from the 90s. He lives with his family in Sweden and enjoys sharing his passion for retro computing and music. He is sysop for Swedish BBS "This old cabin".
