Time for another episode of Flashback! Tracks from the past. The Aerocave Radio Network. Revision 2022 is wrapping up, but we have to wait for the music, so today we won't do that. Now, instead, let me introduce two gentlemen from the tracked scene, Sylo and Seror. Together they formed the duo Sisy. Here is no less than 2 hours of their music, with some stories told by me. First out, Dix. Well, don't laugh.
You generally get just one hour of show or podcast, but today two hours because we love Sisy. It's music from Mosaic, Pop and Klesser, free of their albums that are available on Bandcamp. I'm DJ Demon and we'll talk about artists later, but we must go on.So you go, here's the next one. I'm sorry if I'm butchering the French here, I'm not good with any language except Swedish and yeah, Swedish.
We are mixing it up with Zeiss' different songs and albums, but so far it's been from POP, an album released in 2018, and they're writing on the Bandcamp site. Our seventh album, and full it is, with a whole bunch of songs made on a lot of different machines. This could be defined as 80s pop in terms of genre, terms of arrangement, harmonies and melodies. This sounded like the perfect title. Also, we wanted to name it Dicks first. That's ten in French. Okay, good to know that. But because most people will probably announce it differently than intended, that sounded kind of weird. Well, no disagreement there. Next up is Demise.
The internet isn't exactly brimming with information about Psy-C, but information we can find. They are two people, Silo or Tom Ofringa and Sauror, real name Roel Herspink. Two guys from Groningen, the Netherlands that make music on old computers like the Commodore 64, the Amiga 500 or 1200, Gameboy, Sega Genesis and DOS PC. They write...After we met on a website around 2005, making chiptunes was more or less an internet thing for us. Because of the tiny format, it's so easy to share the files and projects. So cooperating on songs without physically being together is easy. All of you modern DAW users must envy me right now. Dudes, you have no idea. And next up, more shippy tuney. It's a Tantair.
The story isn't over yet. They write on their web page. When Rowell, that's Seller, eventually moved to Groningen, making music together without having to sit behind our own screens became easier. This led us to making crap loads of modules and eventually a first co-op album.Around that time I visited a couple of ship tune parties in Delft and Utrecht and I got to know Franz Twisk. His name is Einbass. Next up we are switching to the album called Mosaic and it's Petit Ami Rouge.
A years later, Eindbaas and a couple of other acts did a tour around a couple of cities in the Netherlands and asked us to join them for a little gig in Groningen. Nervous as hell, with us just playing Finnish songs instead of doing an elaborated set, our first gig happened. Little did we know that all these years later we would fly over oceans to press play on all these big parties. Still, elaborated sets. And smiley, we are switching back to Claeser and the song is called Auberg.
No awards for you figuring it out. But if you haven't, let me tell you. We are playing each album A to C, sometimes switching to another album to give you another feel for it. My feeling for Sisy is that most of the songs are very similar in timbre, in genre, in style, in everything, and I think that is a good thing. It gives a very, very, should I say, consistent feel to everything.and we're gonna talk a little bit about the other albums in a few minutes, but we must go on. And maybe we should have started by saying bonjour.
A little bit of an update about Revision 2022. It's ongoing and we have no time to get the music until 9 o'clock. Okay, as you're listening that has already happened. So next week or maybe the week after you will get a revision toplist. You know, we always do that. Next up is a song proving that Psy C isn't always serious. I don't think they are because the song is called Brain Fart Spandex.
That is a nice song. I'm sitting here in southern Stockholm celebrating Easter and it's my mother's house. She is in the room here beside mine and she is wearing earplugs. Yeah, I'm not kidding you. She can't stand my screaming either. Going on with cartoon. Yeah, it's still sizey and this is a special episode about them.
That's a song fit for any cartoon, I would say. This is Flashback, tracks from the past. I'm DJ Daemon, and you're listening to a music podcast with tracked music from Amiga, Atari, PC, and whatever can track music. That's a lot of machines, I tell you. We even had a guy here making track music on Game Boys. And so does actually Xyce. I don't think the next one is done on such a device.but it's called syncwanty and it's 30 minutes past the hour.
They have released a number of albums and you can buy all of them for 27 euros. I have and I think all the albums are good and most of the songs. That is a pretty good deal and you can replay them as long as it is replayed non-commercially without much restrictions. Great. We are going on with Cominards.
Flashback is part of the Ericade radio network. You can find us on Ericade.radio. My name is DJ Daemon and I'm celebrating my 28th year as a radio DJ. Okay, a community one at it have never held a solid position, but that won't stop me. No, I have a number of podcasts and this one is, well, it's the Amiga one. It's the Atari one, it's the PC one. If you like track music, this is the place just for you.And good stuff is coming up in the demo scene as well. As I said, revision is done. And last week we covered another demo party called GURPS 2022. And we will continue covering everything that comes up.
We're leaving Klazör and going over to POP. For the rest of this hour you get that album and next hour, the second one, will be without me but all the music from Mosaic and POP you get only Zayze. So let's go on with the first one from POP here. It's the first song and it's called Ger.
As a radio amateur I must say, the next song I approve of it. It's called morse. And I wonder, can you decode it?
We shouldn't really forget about the third album, is called Mosaic. It's the third one of the three we're playing today, that is. So we are going on with, I hope I'm not butchering this totally, Mauve Genie. I think that means evil genius. I like that. That's great. That's an awesome name of an awesome track.
That was a bit of a detour, so we are going back to doing exactly what we promised to do. Well, that would be pop. Back again. And next up is Sisy, and they are cooperating with Rymdkraft. The song is called Dolphs Aerobics. A remix even.
The Ericade Radio Network with all the best music composed on Pro Tracker, Noise Tracker, Impulse Tracker and Fast Tracker.
That is one fun song, another one like that cartoon one. It's called Jogart and I'm leaving the airwaves. This is me DJ Demon and stick around because you get one more hour of this if you're listening on the podcast player, the radio station. But if you are listening on Ericade radio, the best of Ericade radio, the rerun station, sorry, it's all over right now. Next up is something else. Did you do you hear saying bye bye?and leading you into that good night, or maybe not. It's Xyce and Ola.
one lost parting gift that I have to give you. It's not Christmas right now, but I think the Jingle Bells song they made here, this rendition is really, really nice.
Time for another episode of Flashback. Tracks from the past.
