Lagoona started out as the trackerscene band TSEC (The Solid Energy Crew) in August 1996. We made a few songs, and published them on the internet in March 1997. The songs became very popular, and we decided to keep on making more music. We made about 70 songs during 1997-1998, and we won several online music competitions. In February 1998, we released our first album. In October 1998, we changed our name to Lagoona and started working with synthesizers and MIDI. By then, we had more than 300.000 visitors to our homepage! We kept on making music, and in June 1999 we signed a recording contract with Norske Gram in Norway. At this time, we also started do serious live performances. But we didn't get to release any music for NG, and when EMI bought the label, our contract was terminated. Now we are unsigned, and we keep on releasing our songs for free on the net. In July this year, we uploaded our songs to mp3.com. In less than one month, we managed to move up from nothing to the #1 spot of the whole site. We also released two DAM CD's, which both have become very successful. And that's where we are right now.
